ABOUT US

Developmental Associates is a group of Psychologists, Psychology Aides, and Behavior Consultants with diverse educational licenses who are specialized in working with individuals and their families who experience a wide range of mental health and developmental disability concerns.

Our Approach

Our theoretical approach is based on cognitive-behavioral theories.  In this approach, we explore social and emotional behaviors.  As this occurs, the interconnection between each element is addressed. Exploration is done through a variety of methods that include discussion, exploration through art and play therapy, as well as video self-modeling.

We cater to children and adults on the autism spectrum and develop home programming that allows for an eclectic approach, frequently beginning with one-on-one, home-based, positive reinforcement programs. We also incorporate family dynamics, social skills, and the development of solid relationships outside the therapeutic setting.

Conduct

We conduct psychological evaluations to determine diagnosis, and to update psychological, cognitive, academic, or behavioral status. Our clientele mainly consists of children and adults who suspect Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. We also evaluate and treat those who desire to overcome attention deficit hyper-activity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety, and learning disabilities.

Develop

We develop, implement, and monitor home-based, one-on-one instruction, as well as integrated programs incorporating therapeutic techniques depending on the needs of the families and the individuals. We address diverse concerns such as aggression, self-injury, self-stimulatory behavior, and non-compliance. Our approach is primarily positive, proactive, and preventative.

Assist

We also assist parents and school systems in developing productive individualized educational programs (IEPs) and behavior plans to incorporate into the classroom to assist in problem-solving behavioral issues. We effectively work within traditional brick-and-mortar environments, home schooling and computer-based instruction, and unschooling families.
